Frequently Asked Questions

Have another question? Call us at (928) 753-6138!

How much do your services cost?

Our services cover a wide range, so prices vary from one item to the next. A standard office visit and exam is booked as a 30-minute appointment. For pricing on a specific procedure, give us a call. Keep in mind that an exam is often needed before we can give an accurate estimate.

Do you offer payment plans?

We don’t offer in-house payment plans, but we’re committed to keeping your pet’s care as affordable as possible. CareCredit, an independent financing company (subject to credit approval), is available and has replaced our old open-billing policy.

Why does my dog need heartworm testing?

Heartworm isn’t a major problem in our mostly mosquito-free high-desert climate, but if you travel with your dog, prevention matters. Ask us about a safe, economical medication that prevents heartworm while also treating internal parasites your pet might pick up here or on the road.

Can I get my dog licensed at your clinic?

We can give your dog the Rabies vaccine, which is the first step toward licensing. Licensing itself is run by Mohave County and requires a current Rabies vaccine. Call (928) 753-2727 for details. Once your dog has its Rabies certificate, you can get the license at the county shelter downtown.

How long does it take to get an appointment?

We can often see you and your pet the same day or the next day, though sometimes a visit is a few days out. Routine surgeries can usually be scheduled within the same or the following week. Call us at (928) 753-6138 to book.

How do I know if my pet has worms?

The surest way to check for internal parasites is to bring in a stool sample for our lab. Results are usually ready the same day, and if we find anything we can prescribe a dewormer aimed right at the problem.

What vaccinations does my pet need?

Puppies and kittens usually need a series of shots while their immune systems mature. That usually means three rounds of shots over about three months, then boosters on a yearly or three-year schedule depending on the vaccine. If you have records from another clinic, shelter, or breeder, we’ll sort out exactly what’s needed and when, and we can even send reminders. Call us at (928) 753-6138.

Can you prescribe something if I just describe the symptoms?

By law, any pet that needs medication has to be examined and diagnosed by a doctor first. So your pet will need to be seen by one of our veterinarians before we can send any medication home.
